Caesarea by the Sea

The remains of a city Herod Antipas built. This is the amphitheater.  The area was built in around 30 BC
The tunnel into the theater

The Pontius Pilate stone
The rest of Caesarea
Herod's personal pool.  In the foreground is an original mosaic.

The story of St Paul.  Below is where they would have held him in a cell.
This area was the original bay and boat dock.  A sea wall keeps water out of here now.  Anywhere you see green grass was under water.  This is where St Peter most likely set sail to preach the Gospel and where St Paul left from while under arrest to go to Rome to appeal his case directly to Caesar.
